Galera uses a preallocated file with a specific size called gcache, used to store the writesets in circular buffer style. By default, its size is 128MB and it’s a good idea to upgrade it to a higher value.
I’ve updated my documentation on that if you want to check. In addition, you can find more informations, I suggest a Severalnines link.
This is not a really good news. An announcement at OSMC (Open Source Monitoring Conference) as been made by Andreas Ericsson ( Nagios 4 core dev) about the future of Nagios.
Nagios 4 is the latest Core version of the project ! Only the enterprise version will remain (strategic choice of Ethan, the creator).
A Nagios 4 fork will appear called Naemon and developed by Andreas Ericsson. I remind as well that the Shinken is a real good alternative and is able to work with your current Nagios configuration.
I recently crypted all my disk as I changed laptop. At the beginning, I just tested a simple password to see performances changes.
I didn’t really see changes for the moment.
Once I’ve finished to install and configure my needs, I wanted to have a strong password solution. I decided to use a remembered password concatenated to a generated yubikey password.
I updated my LUKS tutorial to explain how to update the password.
I tested to install Debian as I love it more than Mac OS X for work on my new MacBook Pro 13 retina. Most of the hardware works out of the box on a Debian Jessie (because of the kernel version > 3.8) but is not really optimal. That’s why I’m going to explain how I did to make it better.
First of all, you need an EFI manager. I discovered that Refit is not maintained anymore and let place to rEFInd instead.
Yes I did it ! I finally switched from my fantastic Lenovo to the latest MacBook Pro 13.
Some of you won’t understand why I did it, but in fact you’ll see this is an evidence. What was the problem with the Lenovo ? Just the weight ! I’m usually transporting it from work to home and vice versa. I now have a backache and it couldn’t continue like that. Hopefully eNovance is a comprehensive company and allowed me to switch to another laptop of my choice.
I finally found a tiling window manager for OS X and it’s free ! It’s called Xnomad and could be found on GiHub.
Easy to install, it gives the major features of a standard tiling window manager. This is a must have for me now on OS X.
Hope you’ll like it as I !
Once again Mozilla made a future hit ! TogetherJS is a service you add to an existing website to add real-time collaboration features. Using the tool two or more visitors on a website or web application can see each other’s mouse/cursor position, clicks, track each other’s browsing, edit forms together, watch videos together, and chat via audio and WebRTC.
Plugins already exist for WordPress and it’s easy to integrate in any website :-).
