LXC : my documentation finally finished

I’ve finally finished my documentation on LXC for Debian Wheezy. I think I’ve added the most interesting features. I’m now going to migrate my servers from KVM to LXC as I only POC it for now. I’ll keep you up to date when everything will be migrated.

LXC : use dnsmasq instead of libvirt

LXC is a really good container solution to replace older container solutions like OpenVZ or Vserver for instance. Libvirt is a wonderful tool to manage different hypervisors and containers solutions. Anyway Libvirt is unfortunately not able to fully manage LXC (create, delete…) today. That’s why it’s not necessary to get it running and installed on a server, but it could be useful if you have KVM and LXC working on the same machine to get the same tool to handle start/stop containers/VMs.

Iptables is going to be replaced by NFtables

If you’re not aware that the next kernel version will replace iptables by nftables, it’s time to learn on how it works, what are the features, why the change and how to use it. Redshift : screen color temperature adjuster

Redshift adjusts the color temperature of your screen according to your surroundings. This may help your eyes hurt less if you are working in front of the screen at night. Two of my colleagues (Julien and Axel) praise virtues of this application. So I started to use it yesterday. For the moment, my opinion is good during the night, but during the day…I don’t have opinion for the moment. Here is my configuration.

Yubikey : debug your authentication problems

Since I’ve reinstalled my desktop on my new MacBook Pro 13, I had to fight with some problems with my Yubikey. I never had such and wonder if it couldn’t comes from a Debian package update. Anyway, I had problem with permissions on the USB device and found a udev solution. I’ve updated my documentation and let you check and would like a feedback if some of you have encountered the same issue (USB error: Access denied (insufficient permissions))
