MariaDB book on High Performances is finally out! :-)

The day has finally come! After several months of intensive work (weekends and nights), I’m proud to announce that my book on MariaDB High Performance is out! In that book, I made my best to make things as simple as possible to test features, test solutions and to explain everything in the simplest way. Of course if you’re a beginner on MariaDB (and Linux), it may be hard. But if you’re familiar with basics and want to go further with performances and high availability on MariaDB, you’ll enjoy it.

Teaching for 1 week to ENSTA

Next week I’m going to teach basics computer science to future Engineers on Linux/HTML/CSS at ENSTA (Ecole Nationale des Techniques Avancées). This is the first time I will teach to students so I hope it will as interesting as for professionals (or more) :-). I will teach during 1 week so blog posts may slow down a little bit. Now I’m crossing fingers for this week :-p Thanks Marc fort this experience :-)

It’s been a while since I was wondering if a Chromecast is really usefull. I bought one for a friend birthday because I knew that he would love. After watching him playing with his new present, I was convinced to bought one for me. In fact what really convinced me is the last update which allows you, not only send specific apps to your screen, but all the screen to your TV.

Hello readers! The numbers of readers keeps growing and I really appreciate it :-). Thanks to all followers! You may know that I’m currently writing a book on MariaDB performances/high availability. I’m almost finish and this is the last run before the publication in September. To give the maximum in this book , in the very short delay I have to, I need more time. The current blog post flow is: one blog post every 2 days.

And the thing has finally happened! In recent years,the idea ofone day workingat Red Hatpleases me.As you may know, I’m working at eNovance and the news is: RedHat has acquires eNovance! So I belong now to Red Hat family :-). RedHat really wants to to have our OpenStack experience and I’m excited to work with other teams like Ceph (ex Inktank). I really hope it will be an excellent adventure and will enjoy it.

Galaxy S5: feedbacks after 2 weeks usage and ROM customization

I recently changed my smartphone (yes once again) because I was very interested in Galaxy S5 features compared to Nexus 5: Waterproof: better when you got child’s and can record video underwater! Better autonomy: I can have a normal day without charging it! Better camera: once again when you have child’s…The camera makes very good photos compared to Nexus 5. Bigger screen: not a big point for me but it is better Storage: can add a micro SD card.
