A little bit fed up about changing window manager to find the best one for my needs, after i3, I’m testing DWM.
I3 was really nice, but got too much limitation from my point of view. The configuration is too static while Awesome really flexible so the change was hard. An old colleague reminds me about DWM and gave me a real good feedback on it as he’s using it daily since a long time now.
I’m using Awesome WM for a few months and really like it’s modular LUA configuration file. But I encounter some little problems with window resizing that waste my time day to day and forced me to look at an alternative.
A colleague who encountered the same issue talked to Awesome creator (Julien Danjou) that I sometimes have the chance to see at eNovance. It looks like a complicated bug to resolve, he’s not the core maintainer anymore and as it will take too much time to resolve it, this bug shouldn’t be fixed one day.
Ceph is a high availability way to store your data. I really love that solution and how it works. It’s a real good alternative to high cost disks storage. With some colleges of eNovance, we’re currently participating to the Ceph Day today in London (http://www.inktank.com/CEPHdays/).
I’m very excited to be here, as I wanted to put in production Ceph, 4-5 years ago (when it was released as experimental in Linux Kernel).
I’ve never really been interested in NAS solutions as I’ve always made my own server and installed what I needed manually. In addition I always thought that it was closed sources since a friend show me I was wrong.
He definitively convinced me and I bought a Synology DS713+ last week. It’s really easy to use, brings a lot of features and the biggest point : it’s an open system. I mean that you can have root access on a busy box and do what you want.
Speaker Deck is the best way to share presentations online. Simply upload your slides as a PDF, and they will turn them into a beautiful online experience. View them on SpeakerDeck.com, or share them on any website with an embed code. More than that, it produces HTML 5 slides and there are no Ads :-)
I’m fed up about slideshare which doesn’t grow as it should be. They still produce flash slides and as many people, I don’t want it anymore.
I finally sell my Z1000 ! Here are the specs : http://www.moto85.com/moto-occasion-KAWASAKI-Z-1000-ABS-1000_14509734.html
